'Tree
House Creamery yoghurts reaches the supermarkets'
From 21st
January 2009, you can purchase our Tree House Creamery yoghurt
from 9 Morrison's stores within the North East. These stores now
have a dedicated area for local produce. A list of the
stores can be found on the 'Outlets page'. We are working
with Crofter's Foods, a wholesale distributor who supply our
yoghurt and other local foods into these Morrisons stores.
'Lime ash,
an alternative bedding'
In
December 2008, we started using an alternative bedding as a
replacement to shavings on the cubicles for the dairy herd.
It is a waste-paper ash sourced from a paper mill that recycles
waste paper. This lime ash product has the potential to
help with mastitis control and the price compares well against
shavings.
'Cultured milk may have health benefits'
Dairy UK has announced that cultured milk products may help
lower the risk of bladder cancer. Dairy UK reported that a
recent study showed that participants who consumed two or more
servings of cultured milk a day had a decreased incidence of
bladder cancer, compared to those who consumed none. The
research went on to suggest that lactic acid bacteria may play a
role in enhancing the immune system.
